Entrepreneurship is a great catalyst that drives innovative ideation and its implementation. Time has come to replicate the same spirit of innovation to projects like Smart Cities, which will be critical to India’s growth story in upcoming times. The current national scenario calls for a change in the structures of existing cities to align them to expectations of the citizens and pave the way for future.

E-Summit invites you to present your ideas on shaping the future “Smart Cities of India”.
The areas of focus can range from problems in the following fields:
Mobility and Transportation
Energy management and Conservation
Sanitation & waste management
As well as in any other field that you feel can help transform your city to a smart city.
It is imperative to define and foresee the impact of the solutions to these issues on the stakeholders in the city as well. The critical task is to maximize the synergies between these sectors and to ensure their feasibility, sustainability and scalability.
So put on your thinking caps and get an opportunity to present your solutions to a panel of esteemed judges from IBM.
Round 1 (Prelims):
Round 1 is an elimination round.
Participants are required to submit a 2 page write-up clearly identifying the challenges that their solutions will tackle and a brief idea about the implementation at ecell.in/makeitsmart. Alternately, you can submit your response in a form at ecell.in/makeitsmart. You should include answers to the following sample questions:
a) Identify and briefly describe the problem you are trying to solve.
b) Explain your solution to the above problem, for making your city smarter.
c) How are you planning to implement the solution in your/sample city?
d) What challenges would one face in implementation of the solution and how will you solve it?
e) What will be the impact/ output of your idea for the betterment of the city?

The results of this round will be announced on 21st January.
15 teams will be shortlisted for the finals.
Round 2 (On-campus Finals):
The shortlisted teams can work further on their solution & design a presentation around it.
Presentation needs to be along the similar lines of solutions submitted in Round 1.
The final solution (15-slide PPT max.) needs to be submitted by 23:59 hours, 26th January at ecell.in/makeitsmart.
The teams would be invited to present their solutions during E-Summit to the panel.
Time limit is 5 minutes for presentation, followed by upto 5 minutes of Q&A from the judges.
