It was an amazing culmination to the hard work we’d done for the past 2 months. Colgate Transcend 2018 is one of the most reputed B-School competitions in the country. It is known for posing challenging marketing questions to B-School students.
There is always a healthy conflict of ideas during the ideation process, and our team was no exception. But what stood us apart was the fact that once we believed in the idea, we gave it our all to make sure it was presented in the best possible way. Our team’s forte was to not just come up with good ideas, but also create working examples of the same, even if it meant that we pushed our boundaries.
There were 5 teams in the finale. Since this was the 4th round of the competition, all teams were strong contenders for the victory. Colgate Transcend 2018 is known to be an extremely tough competition to crack, especially because of the sheer volume of top B-School students who compete for the coveted trophy (6000+ students registered this year). It is known for some grueling rounds that genuinely test your marketing capabilities, and this year was no exception.
The competition made me realize the challenges a brand faces while trying to find a correct face for itself in the crowded markets. We were lucky to get inside scoops into how legendary companies like Colgate build a brand for themselves.
