Hailing from a small town of Ranchi, Ruchika vividly describes the importance of career opportunities in her life. Amid the peaks and valleys of her life, she has learnt to maintain a constant flow of learning which she mentions with the fact that she has always tried to maintain a steep learning curve. Traversing the graph of her career, Ruchika adds that in 2016, she chose to drop out of a new IIM because she lacked direction and didn’t have a defined career path. Criticism, depression and societal pressure followed.
This turmoil did not deter Ruchika’s faith in herself and her decisions. Defying all odds, she chose to work at Tata Consultancy Services, reflect upon her career choices and then set goals for the future. With the aim of getting into the red building of dreams, after 2.5 years of experience in the industry, she decided to sit for CAT again, in 2018. Nailing the exam with a percentile of 99.82 this time, the odds turned into her favour when she got calls from FMS and IIM Bangalore.
Her determination did not waver even when she cleared the interview round of IIM Bangalore. She knew her decision. The red building was where she was headed to, after years of introspection. From Ranchi to Sindri and Delhi, Ruchika’s journey of reaching the college of her dreams has been inspiring for numerous aspirants.
