Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (RB) is a multinational British company in the field of consumer goods-health, hygiene and home products. The company had grown steadily over the years under the guidance and leadership of its visionary leaders. Post liberalisation RB entered into many emerging markets where it had to face continuous competition from various other players into the same business. To tackle this RB has resorted to student engagement Initiative like RB Mavericks to bring the best minds and young talents under its wings.
RB Mavericks Case Challenge was first launched in the year 2014 and the 4th edition of the competition was held in the year 2017. Mavericks Case Challenge 2017 was open to both 1st and 2nd-year MBA students across many B-schools.
RB Mavericks Case Challenge 2017 had four different rounds starting with:
Stage 1-Idea Submission and Evaluation
The aspirants were to form a team with a maximum of 3 members and submit a Business plan which will be evaluated on these key parameters-
- An idea that is ‘hatke’
- A plan that is profitable
- An outcome that makes a social impact.
Top ideas that were shortlisted made it to the campus round where the ‘Mavericks to be’ got a chance to present their ideas before the panel.
Stage 2-Campus Round
The shortlisted teams were invited from August 19-27, 2017 to present a detailed business plan to the jury. The plans included-
- The business objective and a detailed roadmap to achieve the objective
- If the plan is that of a product extension, it must involve at least one of the RB products from the health or hygiene segments.
- The plan must have a strong sense of purpose – providing a solution to a social issue.
The panel of the jury from RB shortlisted the best teams from the various campuses to compete at the National round. View the details of the competition here.
