It was truly an exciting moment to be given a Special Award at Reliance T.U.P 4.0 by the veterans of Reliance Industries Limited. We and our campus IMT Ghaziabad were overwhelmed with confidence that our idea made a difference to stand out among several top contenders.
The best thing about Reliance T.U.P 4.0 was that it didn’t judge the teams based on only one aspect but many, such as marketing, finance, social and entrepreneurial acumen, and strategy. It gave me a perspective on how leaders actually run a business. RIL provided an exposure to budding entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas on such a big platform.
We prepared a business idea quickly. After that, it was a continuous process- every day was an added step to building our case. We started with humongous amounts of research, talking to employees of relevant companies and similar industries’ founders, and getting reviews on our video, idea, and financial from everyone we could find. The challenging part was probably the journey I took from convincing my teammate to convincing Hital Meswani, Executive Director, RIL, under two minutes and being appreciated for it.
Working with my teammate was fun. We were collaborative and were making up for each other’s weaknesses. Our team was the only all-women team among the top contenders. Our strength and veracity was our forte. Everyone at the grand finale was impressed by our unconventional and unique idea related to the plastic recycling business.
There were a whopping number of contenders making up to almost 22 brilliant teams in the finale, with each one’s idea unique in true sense. This was probably the toughest and the most competitive grand finale I had ever witnessed.
RIL did a brilliant job in organizing the competition and taking care of the entire experience for each student. Starting with the ease of registration to the excellent standards the competition pushed us to live up to, it was handled in the best possible way. At every step, they showered us with personalized gifts. I found the judgement to be fair and the overall experience to be amazing.
There were many real-life lessons that I garnered starting from how strategy matters, why the review of your work is important to the fact that hard work always shines.
